Welcome to St. Sebastian
A congregation of Orthodox Christians in the heart of Carson City, serving Northern Nevada.
Our Patron Saint
Saint Sebastian (Jovan) Dabovich
Born in San Francisco in 1863 to Serbian immigrant parents, Jovan Dabovich became the first Orthodox Christian priest born in the United States. He devoted his life to missionary work throughout North America, serving Orthodox Christians and establishing communities in Jackson, California, where his relics are venerated today. The following year, he met with Orthodox immigrants in Virgina City, Nevada, seeking to establish an Orthodox church there -- connecting the missionary legacy of Saint Sebastian with the very region our parish serves today.
